At present there are brush files for
GIMP. All of the below brushes are of the kind that spray an assortment of different images (GIH).
The screenshot images are reduced to 1/2 or 1/4 of the original larger size.
Don't be misled by the relatively small size of the ZIP files. Some of them have been compressed up to X 10.
They are suitable for use in large images (wallpaper size and printing), also with
Terragen and other landscape programs. If you need them smaller, you can rescale them in GIMP.

The above brushes are based on images made by C-Wied (link no longer valid, but I don't know of another one).
More to be added soon.
Help
- To use these brushes, first unzip them to your home_directory\.gimp1.x\generated_brushes\ directory (or whatever drive you have installed your personal user files), where home_directory in Windows NT, 2000, XP is usually: c:\winnt\profiles\user_name (or administrator if there are no other users).
- Next time you start GIMP, or refresh the view of brushes, they will be available to you.
- Some brushes are largish in size, so that they can be used in larger images.
If you have a lot of brushes, especially large ones, it is recommended that you keep the files in a separate directory, e.g. generated brushes\large\, and move them to the "generated brushes" directory as needed in your image, refreshing the view of brushes. If you don't do this, it is likely that GIMP might take longer to start and that choosing a brush will take a long time. - To unzip a file, you need an unzipping program. If you don't have one, two good ones (for Windows) are: WinZip (shareware) and Power Archiver (shareware), plus many freeware ones.
Use of these files is under the same terms as the use of GIMP - free.
