Four years later, things have changed :)
Below, you will find the browsers and operating systems people used to access these pages in 2003 and now. (2003 is on the left, or on the bottom for a narrow window)
The diagrams were made with different programs, but at least they are all pie charts, and so comparable.
It is interesting, that although Internet Explorer ("Msie" in the charts) is still in the majority, its use has been dropping. Mozilla Firefox and Mozilla have rised significantly.
Since most people use Windows, and Internet Explorer is included in Windows, it seems it is likely to keep the majority, at least among those who would not think to use a better browser.
I also use Firefox and recommend it.
Unfortunately, there is no useful comparison between the two charts.
The first one was from a new site and it seems that a significant number of visitors were not people, but "bots" (web search spiders) - both "known robots" and "OS unknown" seem to be from such sources.
As for the second chart, I find that I am in the minority, since I still use Windows 2000 - and only bought XP, once Vista came in the shops (XP is in the closet somewhere - one of these days I will install it).
